Vocalization

If your cat has recently shown any of these signs, it may indicate cognitive decline — consider tracking how often and how long:

Meowing loudly for no clear reason, especially in the middle of the night
Their voice sounds different than usual (raspier, or like a cat in heat / a stray)
Purring more or less than usual, in a way that stands out
