sorbic acid
Sorbic acid and its salts (potassium sorbate, calcium sorbate) are common preservatives. Cats have naturally limited glucuronidation metabolism capacity, making their efficiency at metabolizing sorbic acid far lower than dogs. Some research indicates potential toxicity in cats from long-term intake.
Other common names: potassium sorbate, calcium sorbate, 山梨酸, 山梨酸鉀, 山梨酸鈣, ソルビン酸, ソルビン酸カリウム, E200, E202
